This year, G.H. Mumm is challenging the traditional conventions of the Kentucky Derby by providing bold inspiration on food, drink and dress during one of the most exciting moment ins sports and culture.

G.H. Mumm has partnered with category experts to communicate and demonstrate how to “Derby Differently” pushing boundaries to modernize stereotypes and embrace personal style.

G.H. Mumm challenges consumers to “Derby Differently” by embracing personal style and challenging traditional conventions and doing things differently when it comes to dressing, eating and drinking.

Just as G.H. Mumm has pushed the boundaries on innovation and design with the Grand Cordon bottle, pulling from the Maison’s rich history but not being afraid to challenge the norm, G.H. Mumm encourages consumers to take a fresh bold perspective one long-standing traditions.

Throughout the Kentucky Derby festivities, G.H.Mumm was onsite at Churchill Downs with their signature Champagne bars as well as an exciting photo where consumers could virtually saber a Jeroboam of the G.H.Mumm Grand Cordon bottle.

Elise Cordell: G.H. Mumm Education & Events Manager, Elise Cordell will be on site at Churchill Downs to provide more information about G.H. Mumm as well as sabering instructions and demonstrations.

#DerbyDifferently – Champagne Cocktails Created by Elliott Clark @Apartment_Bartender

Ken-Tiki Derby Julep: 2 oz G.H. Mumm Champagne, 1.5 oz Jameson Black Barrel, .¼ oz pineapple syrup, ½ oz lime juice, 4-5 mint leaves. Glassware: highball.

Instructions: In a highball glass, combine mint, pineapple syrup, and lime juice. Gently muddle the ingredients, and add in the Jameson Black Barrel Irish Whiskey. Top with crushed ice and light stir to combine to ingredients. Top with G.H. Mumm and add in more crushed ice. Dash 2-3 of angostura bitters on top, and garnish with pineapple leaves and mint. 

Winner’s Cup (multiply recipe x10 for large format punch)

1.5 oz Absolut Elyx Vodka, 1/2 oz vanilla lavender syrup, 1/2 oz lemon juice, 2 dashes of orange bitters, 2 oz G.H. Mumm champagne, Glassware: coupe / punch bowl

Instructions: In a cocktail shaker, combine Absolut Elyx vodka, lavender syrup, lemon juice and bitters.Fill the shaker with ice and shake to chill the cocktail. Strain into a coupe glass over one large cube of ice, and top with G.H. Mumm. Garnish with a rose or rose petal. 

Cinco de Derby: 2 oz G.H. Mumm Champagne, 1.5 oz Avion Blanco Tequila, ½ oz blackberry cinnamon syrup, ½ oz lime juice. Glassware: rocks glass 

Instructions: Combine all ingredients into a cocktail shaker and fill with ice. Shake to chill and strain into a rocks glass over ice. Top with G.H. Mumm and garnish with fresh mint, lime, and fresh grated cinnamon.
