Macy’s Inc. opens its newest locations of off-price, on-trend stores, Macy’s Backstage, specifically designed for the savvy and cost-conscious shopper. This shopper enjoys finding new trends at a great price and shops often. Off-price. On-trend. Arriving daily.

 
BACKGROUND
• The first Backstage opened in September 2015.
• There are 36 freestanding Backstage locations.
• As of June 2022, there are 300 locations within Macy’s nationwide.
• Macy’s will expand Macy’s Backstage an additional 37 stores this spring.
 
ASSORTMENT 
Macy’s Backstage assortment offers current fashion trends as well as its own distinct product categories. It is truly a one-stop shop.
 
• Backstage offers best-in-class merchandise for those who love the thrill of the hunt. Customers can find new and now styles in apparel for women, men and children; a wide range of toys, housewares, beauty products, designer handbags, activewear and gifts your furry friends will love, plus more.
 
• Backstage is separately sourced with different buying teams than Macy’s. Some brands will crossover, but product will not be the same. To better fit the needs of the fashion-savvy and cost-conscious Backstage customer, the assortment is a combination of overstock from other stores, deals from vendors, and new connections in the marketplace. 
 
SPEED & VALUE 
Macy’s Backstage is designed for the fashionable customer on a budget who enjoys an ever-changing assortment of curated finds and unexpected treasures at a great price.
 
• Merchandise is ordered in smaller quantities and more often, creating a rotating assortment. In fact, 60% of our merchandise is secured within 60 days of hitting the sales floor.   
 
• Simplified pricing and limited quantity encourage the customer to buy immediately and shop often. The price is already marked at its lowest – no coupons are accepted, but customers can use their Macy’s cards and earn Star Rewards. 
 
ATMOSPHERE 
Macy’s Backstage provides customers with an easy and efficient shopping experience
 
• The space allows for better sightlines from one end of the store to the other with visually compelling signage for easy navigation.
o This location is more than 15,000 square feet.
 
• Backstage store colleagues create and maintain an organized and efficient self-service shopping environment.
