MERCEDES AMG PETRONAS F1 TEAM CELEBRATES 2016 FORMULA ONE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS IN KUALA LUMPUR

Following the Formula One championship showdown at the Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi, the 2016 Formula One World Champion Nico Rosberg and Toto Wolff, Head of Mercedes-Benz Motorsport and boss of the triple world champion Mercedes AMG Petronas Formula One Team, marked the team’s historic achievement in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Following Sunday’s thrilling Formula One championship showdown at the Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi, the 2016 Formula One World Champion Nico Rosberg and Toto Wolff, Head of Mercedes-Benz Motorsport and boss of the triple world champion Mercedes AMG Petronas Formula One Team, marked the team’s historic achievement in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

At the headquarters of the team’s title partner, the world champions completed a ceremonial handover of the World Constructors’ Championship trophy to Datuk Wan Zulkiflee Wan Ariffin, President and Group Chief Executive of Petronas, before celebrating the milestone of #TheTriple – three consecutive Formula One world championships – with the staff of Petronas.

The world champions conducted media commitments in Kuala Lumpur and gave their first media interviews following Sunday’s title showdown as part of this VNR package.

•    Nico Rosberg becomes Formula One World Drivers’ Champion for the first time in 2016.
•    His achievement emulates his father Keke, who won the title in 1982 – the second father-son to win the title after Graham and Damon Hill.
•    Nico is the first German driver to become Formula One World Champion with Mercedes-Benz.

•    Team boss Toto Wolff marked the third consecutive Formula One Constructors’ Championship for Mercedes-Benz.
•    The World Champions celebrated their titles in Kuala Lumpur, HQ of the Team’s title partner Petronas.
•    Nico Rosberg and the Team will be crowned officially as World Champions at the FIA Gala in Vienna on 2nd December.
