Pro surfers, amateurs, tandem surfing stars and man’s best friend have descended upon Noosa on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast, Australia for the world’s biggest surf festival.

Over five hundred riders from thirteen nations all in one spot including Hugsley the 5 year old surfing Labrador, is returning to the board to contest his title from last year’s VetShopAustralia Surfing Dog Spectacular.

Veteran surfer and current Best Wave champ Paul Jones and teammate Hugsley, said he’s never seen anything like the crowd that makes their way to First Point in Noosa for the competition.

In addition to the hugely popular dog surfing competition, the festival celebrates its 25th anniversary in 2016.

With more than 30 divisions catering for all kinds of surfing, including longboard, shortboard, finless, stand up paddle boards, dog surfing and body surfing, and ages from under 15 to over 70, the festival has become one of the most popular events on the global surfing calendar.
