RAGÚ brand kicked off its 80th anniversary in a big way by debuting “Simmered in Tradition,” the brand’s first-ever float, in the 128th Tournament of Roses Parade.
The Tournament of Roses announced that “Simmered in Tradition” was awarded the National Trophy for best depiction of past, present or future life in the United States. The lush float paid tribute to the RAGÚ brand’s Italian founders, the California family farmers who grow their fresh ingredients, as well as the sauce makers and consumers who have made RAGÚ pasta sauce America’s favorite.
The brand’s first ever appearance in the parade was made possible with the help of more than 1,500 volunteers who contributed to the decoration of the 55-foot float over a seven-day period. Tens of thousands of roses were featured on the float which aims to be the “reddest in the parade.” More than 25,000 carnations created 50 larger-than-life tomatoes that sit on a fanciful tomato vine, helping audiences see, smell and savor the longstanding tradition of great taste found in every jar of RAGÚ for the past 80 years.
