Following independence from the Soviet Union, the founding of a factory in Armenia has become a significant event. This year, 10 projects were implemented in 7 provinces of Armenia with co-funding from the EU. Several of these projects have enabled the production of goods for the local market by social enterprises.

Armenia is rich with local produce: the Armenian market known as the “Goom market” is colorful with Armenian fruit, vegetables, dried fruits and spices. Still, amongst the multitude of produce, some are imported. For example, rice and buckwheat are entirely imported. However, in a few weeks the situation will change.
