ROMANIA TOURIST BOARD TEAMS UP WITH COUNTRY’S DENTISTS TO ENCOURAGE TOURISTS FROM UK, REST OF EUROPE AND BEYOND TO VISIT

· Romania aims to attract more tourists by highlighting the significant saving difference between dental work in their country compared to the UK and a lot of Europe

· Romania’s tourism industry hopes significant pick-up post fall after the pandemic with joint venture and launch of a new airport

· Unlike Turkey, Romania follows EU regulations when it comes to dentistry and is more affordable than the UK

Romania’s tourist board have come up with a novel idea to encourage tourists to visit their beautiful country to help with getting tourism back to pre-pandemic levels.

While many visitors will head straight to the capital Bucharest or enjoy a trip to Dracula’s famous Bran Castle, there’s now a new reason to visit and that’s to get your teeth look at.

A campaign called the “Most Beautiful Dental Clinic in the World” gives tourists the chance to experience the country’s most iconic sites while also taking in a visit to the country’s highly trained and English-speaking dentists and orthodontists.

Unlike Turkey, Romania is part of the European Union and follows EU regulations when it comes to dentistry. The idea is a win-win for both Romania and the UK, with NHS dentist shortages and increasingly long waiting lists back in Britain, plus the rising price of dental work. Research shows in the UK more individuals are willing to pay for private dental care, and household spending on dental services has doubled in the past 10 years. The cost of a white filling in the UK can be as much as £250, however a package online through this venture will cost roughly £280, including the treatment and a chance to have a holiday, as flights and three nights in a four-star hotel are included.

The campaign recently turned heads at the British Tourism and Travel Show. At the Romanian booth, agents dressed were dressed in scrubs and masks and invited visitors to take a seat in the dentist’s chair, don a VR mask and take a virtual tour through the country’s gorgeous landscapes.

Florin Lazarescu, General Secretary, Society of Esthetic Dentistry, Romania & General Secretary of the European Society of Cosmetic Dentistry believes this could be rejuvenate Romania’s tourism industry and economy while also providing a safe environment for UK and Europe customers to get their teeth looked at while also taking in the sites of an unexplored corner of the world.
